OREANDA-NEWS Germany continues to pay for gas in euros, remaining dependent on supplies from Russia. This was stated by German Economy Minister Robert Habek on the air of the n-tv channel, according to Gazeta.ru.
He added that German companies continue to pay for gas in euros. At the same time, the payment is made in agreement with the European Union and in accordance with the sanctions regime.
Earlier on Tuesday, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said that the dependence of previous German governments on Russia and their energy strategy was a serious mistake. Lindner added that he did not want to risk a large-scale economic downturn that could reduce Germany's ability to support Ukraine.
Bloomberg previously reported that the economic recovery of the European region would be severely slowed if there were serious disruptions in gas supplies from Russia.
