Finnish Energy Company Gasum Refused to Pay for Russian Gas in Rubles

OREANDA-NEWS The Finnish state-owned gas company Gasum did not want to comply with Gazprom's demand to pay for Russian gas in rubles. It was reported by TASS citing a statement by the company, Gazeta.ru reported.
Earlier it was reported that French energy company Engie decided to discuss gas payment scheme with Gazprom.
Bloomberg reported on May 16 that Italian energy company Eni intended to meet Russia's requirements and open a bank account in rubles.
In late March, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on gas trade with unfriendly countries (this list includes all EU countries), obliging these states to pay for energy resources in rubles.
On April 1, Gazprom started sending official letters to its counterparties about the new procedure for paying for gas in rubles.
