Britain Imposes Sanctions on Russian Military

OREANDA-NEWS Russian military commanders were among the 26 individuals and entities from the Russian Federation who were added to the British sanctions list on April 21, according to the website of the British government, Lenta.ru reports.
Among them are members of the high command: Colonel General and Hero of Russia Andrey Serdyukov, Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel General Nikolai Bogdanovsky, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel General Valery Flustikov, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and Vice Admiral Andrey Olgertovich Volozhinsky, Chief of the General Staff of the Navy.
Also on the sanctions list were Russian director Aleksey Pimanov, journalist and military expert Igor Korotchenko and former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the party "Opposition Platform - For Life" Ilya Kiva, who had previously been dismissed for his pro-Russian position.
Earlier, the head of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, announced his departure from the company amid personal sanctions imposed on him. It is reported that Alekperov will leave his post and the president and resign from the board of directors. It is noted that Alekperov is not the controlling owner of the company.
