OREANDA-NEWS South Korea decided from Friday, April 28, to expand the list of goods for the export of which to Russia and Belarus it is necessary to obtain a special permit from the government, from 57 to 798 items. This was reported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the country, RIA Novosti reports.
741 items have been added to the restrictive list, including goods for the steel and chemical industries, the automotive industry, industrial and construction equipment, parts for cars more expensive than 50 thousand dollars, conductors and quantum computers, parts for them.
The Ministry submitted a draft amendment to the document on February 24 and over the past two months has carried out all the necessary legislative procedures for changes. Companies that have received an export permit before April 27 will not have to submit documents again.
In March 2022, South Korea managed to get an exception from the US anti-Russian sanctions, but at the same time the republic undertakes to impose its export restrictions against Moscow. The country, by its own sanctions, bypassing the direct foreign product rule (FDPR), which involves obtaining a license from the American government before sending goods to Russia that are manufactured abroad using American technologies, supports restrictions against Moscow.
