OREANDA-NEWS  South Korea unilaterally announced the imposition of sanctions against 11 individuals and 15 organizations from Russia "for participating in illegal military cooperation" with the DPRK. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the South Korean Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that this step was taken in connection with the joint statement of the foreign ministers of Western countries, which was devoted to cooperation between Russia and North Korea.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Seoul Georgy Zinoviev said that Moscow and Seoul could restore ties after the announcement of the decision of the South Korean parliament to impeach President Yun Seok-yeol. He said that relations between the states had deteriorated recently and had reached the point of no return, which would be South Korea's decision on direct supplies of lethal weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
