OREANDA-NEWS At least 37 minors will undergo rehabilitation in the Sochi sanatorium "Semashko" until September, head of the Department for Family and Childhood Affairs of the Sochi administration Nona Kardava told RIA Novosti.

"In 2024, 14 children from the Belgorod Region received sanatorium treatment at the Federal State Budgetary Institution DDS (Federal State budgetary institution pediatric Dermatological sanatorium of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation) Semashko and 37 children plan to improve their health by September this year," Kardava said.

Georgy Popov, Deputy director for the medical department of Semashko, clarified to RIA Novosti that specialists from different fields work with children, taking into account the special climatic conditions of Sochi and the child's diagnosis.

"In the summer, of course, this is the sea and our natural factors, which are found only here: hydrogen sulfide treatment, mud treatment, and of course, our spectrum is physiotherapy using the equipment that is equipped at the Semashko sanatorium, maybe we have something that is not, let's say, in the polyclinic of the Belgorod region," says Popov.

When asked what programs are provided in the sanatorium for children who have experienced stressful situations, including from the Belgorod region, Popov replied that there is a comprehensive therapy for this. "We have a psychotherapist on staff who advises these children, prescribes sedative treatments, massage, baths, transcranial stimulation, group aromatherapy, those methods that are aimed at improving the mental background," the agency interlocutor explained.

According to Popov, children are admitted to rehabilitation according to the standard monitoring system of sanatorium treatment.

Semashko is not the only sanatorium in the Olympic capital that accepts children for rehabilitation, including from the Belgorod region, minors from this region will also come to the Yunost sanatorium, its director Yuri Obolentsev told RIA Novosti.
