OREANDA-NEWS  At the same time, the head of government stressed that Slovakia would not change its position on the Ukrainian conflict due to problems with oil supplies. In his opinion, an early truce is necessary, and an artificial extension of the conflict with the unrealistic goal of defeating Russia will only "fill the pockets" of manufacturers and suppliers of weapons even more.

In July, Ukraine stopped oil supplies from Lukoil via the Druzhba oil pipeline after tougher sanctions against the company. Hungary and Slovakia faced a shortage of raw materials and appealed to the European Commission with a complaint about Ukraine's actions and a demand to take retaliatory measures.
