Six People Have Been Killed in South Africa During the Protests
Brenda Muridili, a spokeswoman of the South African National Joint Operations and Intelligence Agency (NatJOINTS), said that there was found one body with gunshot wounds on Sunday morning in Gauteng . Police officers then found the body of a guard and two others with gunshot wounds in the same province. In KwaZulu-Natal, two were reported killed.
In addition, 219 people were detained in two provinces: 96 in Gauteng and 123 in KwaZulu-Natal. Police stepped up their deployment in all areas affected by the protests.
