Shares of Russian companies fall due to US sanctions
Shares of Russian companies fell after the announcement restrictive measures of US. At the opening of trading on the Moscow Exchange, shares of Russian companies declined. The reason is – US anti-Russian sanctions.
Aeroflot's shares fell by 8%. As of 10:53 Moscow time company securities was traded at the level of 102.7 RUB per share, and the minimum value in the morning was to RUB 98,8. In 11:51 stocks have risen — 106,5 RUB.
Sberbank shares decreased by 5.5%, VTB — by 6%, ALROSA — 3%, RUSAL-by 3.3%. ALROSA's shares have outgrown the opening value by noon, the securities of other companies are also playing a fall.
At the same time, the papers of Norilsk Nickel, Gazprom and Gazprom Neft show a slight positive trend.
"Mechel" securities also show decrease in stocks - on 5%, to 86,75 of the RUB, the receipts of the holding company En+ - 4.3%, to 276 RUB shares of "RUSAL" - on 3,7%, to 24.04 of the RUB as of 10:38 Moscow time.
At the opening of trading was also the ruble decline. Thus, the dollar exceeded 66 RUB for the first time since mid-November 2016, and the Euro rose above 77 RUB for the first time since April 16 this year.
On the August 8, the US state Department announced new sanctions against Russia. It is connected with the case of poisoning of former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia in Great Britain. The first package of measures will be introduced on August 22.
If Moscow fails to provide guarantees of non-use chemical weapons within three months and international inspectors are not allowed, it is possible to introduce new restrictions. For example, the stop of Aeroflot flights to the United States.
