OREANDA-NEWS Russian water transport will receive a new impetus to development thanks to the digital solutions of Sberbank and the Innovative Engineering Center, an agreement on cooperation in this direction was signed at the Eastern Economic Forum-2024.

The document was signed by Anatoly Popov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, and Nikolay Kolpakov, General Director of the ANO Innovative Engineering Center.

The parties agreed to jointly improve the regulatory framework for the development of water tourism, private freight and passenger transportation along the inland waterways of the Russian Federation, and create and update related infrastructure. The plans include the preparation and implementation of proposals for the development and implementation of digital services for water transport and their integration with the services of the supporting infrastructure in the form of boat and gas stations, mooring facilities and other facilities of the water, tourism and logistics complex.

Sberbank and the Innovative Engineering Center will also work to improve the safety and quality of water transport services, improve the competitiveness of tourism products and create favorable conditions for the development of water transport production, equipment and products for water tourism in Russia.

"The cooperation of Beber and the Innovative Engineering Center, our joint experience and competencies will help give a new impetus to the development of water transport in the country. And digital technologies and services, a more advanced regulatory framework, and increased production of transport and equipment can play a key role in increasing its effectiveness for the benefit of Russians. We will work on this together with our partner," Popov said.
"The development of water transport and tourism technologies is a large-scale task, the solution of which requires truly innovative approaches. The integration of domestic innovative developments and digital solutions into the existing infrastructure can significantly improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of transportation," Nikolai Kolpakov said.
