OREANDA-NEWS  Moldovan President Maia Sandu, who was re-elected for a second term, took office and assumed her duties. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The inauguration ceremony took place in Chisinau on December 24. It was held at the Palace of the Republic.

The second round of presidential elections in Moldova took place on November 3. The next day, the Central Election Commission announced that the current head of state, Maia Sandu, had won the vote, with more than 55 percent of voters supporting her candidacy.

The Kremlin commented on the results of the Moldovan elections. According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, these elections cannot be considered either democratic or fair.
