He said that the Consulate General confirms the death of a Russian tourist as a result of a new coronavirus infection. In coordination with local authorities and the insurance company, the necessary steps are being taken to repatriate the body of the died person.

Earlier, citing the widow of the deceased, it was reported that the insurance company refuses to pay the hospital $ 2,000 for the treatment of the Russian. When asked to comment on this information, the Russian diplomatic mission noted that "this issue relates to the sphere of contractual relations between the insurance company and the insured person.

Earlier, on October 27, it was reported that the Turkish government is considering limiting international travel due to the increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19, the country may be closed to tourists in November or December. First of all, communication with major tourist centers, including Istanbul, will be limited.
