OREANDA-NEWS  China began to refuse Russian shipowners recognition of documents issued by domestic insurers and the Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNPC). This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Head of the Ministry Alexander Poshivai told about the problems of Russian shipowners during the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum. According to him, domestic shipowners face refusals from the Chinese authorities and local companies. They refuse to recognize insurance documents for cargo and ships.

In addition, the Russian side faces other difficulties, the deputy minister added. Among them are the increase in rates for war risk insurance for ships that enter seaports, as well as the refusal of P&I clubs and their members to reinsure the liability of shipping companies.
