OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Ambassador to Japan Mikhail Galuzin commented on the words of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida about "the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons", urging the head of the Japanese government to redirect the call on the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear weapons to the United States, TASS reports.
“Japan, in the presence of the US ambassador, is discussing in Hiroshima the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear weapons, artificially and without any reason trying to “tie” Russia to this. Such an appeal would be much more logical to directly address the head of the American diplomatic mission, ”Galuzin believes.
He recalled that only the United States used nuclear weapons - twice in Japan, during the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Galuzin also recalled the use of depleted uranium ammunition by the Americans during the bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.
“The US Ambassador did not consider it necessary to apologize to the people of Japan for the gravest war crime of his country on August 6, 1945, which claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians in Hiroshima,” Galuzin added.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden was invited to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
