OREANDA-NEWS The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) is located on the territory of Russia, so Ukraine's claims to it are unclear, said Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense Committee.

"The meaning of the claims is generally unclear. Because the Zaporizhia region is constitutionally part of the Russian Federation. The Zaporizhia NPP is located in the Zaporizhia region. They can claim anything, but there is a law," Kolesnik commented.

Earlier, the head of the subcommittee of the Ukrainian Parliament on energy security, Victoria Hryb, said that Ukraine was surprised by the discussion of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) between Russia and the United States. She stated Kiev's desire to return the NPP.

On March 17, Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to International organizations in Vienna, said that the employees of the NPP were being subjected to psychological terror from Ukraine on social networks using their personal data.
