OREANDA-NEWS. Russia, in consultation with other countries, prepared to submit for consideration by the UN General Assembly a decision on the transfer of the work of the disarmament committee from New York to Geneva or Vienna. This was announced on Wednesday to the Russian media by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Office in Geneva Andrei Belousov, answering a question about the results of the meeting of the UN Relations Committee with the host country on the eve of the meeting.
At the same time, until the application is submitted to the committee, the deadline for submitting documents to the First Committee expires on Thursday. "The Russian delegation acts on the basis of specific instructions, these instructions provide for the introduction of this document", Belousov emphasized. “So far, we have not had a team not to contribute”, Belousov explained.
Since the beginning of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, the United States has not issued visas to 18 Russian delegates. In particular, a third of the Russian delegation, which was supposed to take part in the meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, dealing with disarmament issues, could not get visas.
