Russia and Turkey Begin Joint Patrols in Syria

OREANDA-NEWS. A Russian-Turkish convoy of nine vehicles began to patrol jointly on the Syrian border. This information was reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and also confirmed in the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.
“From 12:15 p.m. on November 1, 2019, the first joint patrol of the Russian military police and the Turkish border service began joint patrolling of the Syrian-Turkish border. The joint patrol started from the customs crossing point of Derbisia, where the Russian military police met with representatives of the Turkish border service, and will go west along the Syrian-Turkish border", the Defense Ministry said.
“The patrol includes the Tiger and Typhoon armored vehicles of the Russian military police and the Kirpi armored vehicles of the Turkish border service. Nine units of military equipment. The convoy’s security is provided by the BTR-82 armored personnel carrier of the Russian military police. The total length of the route will be more than 110 kilometers”, added to the department.
Earlier it was reported that Turkey and Russia reached a historic agreement on Syria on Tuesday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced this after meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
