OREANDA-NEWS   The new sanctions will not affect the activities of Rosatom enterprises, which have an annual stock of all necessary spare parts and components, said the adviser to the CEO of Rosenergoatom (part of Rosatom) Renat Karchaa.

On the eve of Vladimir Zelensky, by his decree, imposed sanctions against 200 companies and enterprises of the Russian nuclear industry - Rosatom and its "daughters". Sanctions are imposed for a period of 50 years. They provide, in particular, blocking of assets, restriction or complete termination of trade operations, restriction, partial or complete termination of transit of resources, flights and transportation on the territory of Ukraine, cancellation or suspension of licenses. "For a long time ... we, faced with the non–necessity (of the Ukrainian side - ed.), have started an import substitution program. The parent organizations have been identified in this regard, we have enough spare parts in full for this year. As for next year, I am sure that during this year all measures will be taken to minimize the risks of these moments," Karchaa said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel. He stressed that cooperation with Ukraine began to weaken quite a long time ago, therefore, despite the sanctions, corporations and enterprises in the circuit managed to prepare in advance for a possible shortage of Ukrainian-made components.

"If we take nuclear energy, these sanctions are never painful, this whole thing is never sensitive. We had relations with Kharkiv, we had relations with Dnepropetrovsk, we had relations with Sumy – these are mainly turbines, these are pumps, and these are fittings," Karchaa said.
