OREANDA-NEWS. The Cypriot authorities did not inform Oleg Deripaska of the decision to deprive him of his citizenship, a businessman’s representative told the Russian media. “Information about the deprivation of Oleg Deripaska of Cyprus citizenship is untrue. He did not receive any official notifications from the Government of Cyprus on the status of his citizenship”, a businessman’s representative told the Russian media.

He noted that the US authorities exert significant pressure on Cyprus. “The fact that Cyprus is obviously subjected to unprecedented pressure from the United States to create difficulties for Russian business is outrageous and should cause serious concern to the world community”, he said.

Earlier, the Cypriot newspaper reported that the number of Russian citizens in respect of whom the process of deprivation of Cypriot citizenship was launched included businessman Oleg Deripaska, as well as his son and daughter.
