OREANDA-NEWS Western countries showed Russia a "place in the corner" based on their geopolitical interests, but failed. This was stated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

"It turns out that in addition to all this, in addition to everything related to ideology, there are also issues of a geopolitical nature, geopolitical interests. They practically showed us right away where our place is: "over there, in the corner,"" the Russian leader said.

Putin also added that Western countries had tried to destabilize the domestic political situation in Russia itself. According to him, these attempts failed and the country coped with all the challenges.

Earlier, Putin said that allowing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike with long-range missiles deep into Russian territories means direct involvement of the West in the conflict. He also explained that the use of high-precision Western long-range weapons without the direct participation of military personnel, military specialists of the relevant NATO countries is simply impossible.
