OREANDA-NEWS. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said, that during the recent conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia didn't use «Iskander» missile systems. The head of the republic called the words of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan about these missiles anecdotal.
Earlier the Armenian Prime Minister called the Russian «Iskander» ineffective. This is how he responded to the words of former President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, that the Armenian military could use «Iskander» at the very beginning of hostilities in the region.
According to Viktor Zavarzin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, Nikol Pashinyan decided to emphasize his innocence in the results of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh with words about the alleged ineffectiveness of the Russian «Iskander» operational and tactical missile systems. He noted, that Pashinyan's words are «an absolute lie». The politician recalled, that Western experts constantly pay attention to the need to introduce the «Iskanders» into the negotiation process on short-range missiles.
The Russian Defense Ministry also denies the use of «Iskanders» by Armenia. According to the military department, the entire stock of missiles was in the warehouses of the armed forces of the country.
