OREANDA-NEWS. A rally in support of Petro Poroshenko is taking place in Kiev. It was organized in front of the court building, which is to elect to the former Ukrainian president a precautionary measure. Earlier, Poroshenko confirmed that Kiev's Pecherskyy district court will consider an application for a precautionary measure on Thursday. 

The protesters include the defendant's wife, Maryna Poroshenko, as well as members of parliament representing his party «European Solidarity».

«Today (they) try not just to settle political scores, not just to make attacks, today it's a real terror,» said the wife of the former president.

There is a screen in front of the court building on which the session is broadcast. The protesters said it was a peaceful protest. Eyewitnesses say the police are few, but the street's blocked.

Petro Poroshenko is suspected of abuse of power and pressure on his subordinates. In particular, at his request, Sergei Semochko was appointed Deputy Head of Foreign Intelligence Service.

A rally for the resignation of current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was held the day before in Kiev. It was held by supporters of video blogger Anatoly Sharia. Activists demanded to protect the constitutional rights of citizens, stop arrests and attacks on activists.
