OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Polish government, Mateusz Morawiecki, said that Poland is trying to be the first to limit diplomatic contacts with Russia. TASS writes about it.
“We are trying to be the first to lead to a significant limitation of various diplomatic contacts,” he said at a press conference.
According to him, Poland was one of the first countries to decide on the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
Morawiecki also stressed that after that, other EU members began to limit diplomatic contacts with Russia.
At the end of March, Poland expelled 45 Russian diplomats on charges of intelligence activities. In response, Moscow declared 45 Polish diplomats persona non grata.
It is known that earlier in Poland they announced the connection of a Russian diplomat with a “spy” from the registry office. As a result, it was decided to hand over a note of expulsion to 45 diplomats on charges of espionage. According to the agency, these individuals worked in the framework of Russian intelligence projects "aimed at the stability of Poland."
Earlier, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Piotr Wawrzyk said on Polish television that the status of relations between Russia and the European Union, as well as Russia and the NATO alliance, remains unchanged.
