Poland Accused Two Russians of Organizing Illegal Migration
OREANDA-NEWS. The Polish prosecutor's office has charged two Russians with organizing the illegal transportation of immigrants from the Middle East to Germany through the country. Another person involved in the case is a citizen of Ukraine. This is stated in the statement of the Polish department.
It is noted that during the investigation, drivers transporting migrants were detained, as well as two organizers of Chechen origin who are illegally on Polish territory. The accused face up to 8 years in prison.
«The third accomplice, who is the organizer of the procedure, is still wanted with a European arrest warrant», the report says.
The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the Poland, which began in May, escalated on November 8. Then several thousand migrants approached the Polish-Belarusian border. They began to storm the cordon, but these attempts were stopped by Polish security forces. Poland has pulled military and special equipment to the border.
On November 11, the Polish Foreign Ministry estimated the number of migrants arriving in Belarus for the purpose of subsequent transit to the European Union at 15-20 thousand people. At the same time, according to the ministry, four to five thousand of them are already at the border.
Earlier, the Polish authorities announced their intention to build a capital barrier on the border with Belarus by the first half of 2022.According to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the country, Maciej Wonsik, at the moment it is not known exactly in what time frame the construction will be carried out. He noted that for this it is necessary to sign the relevant documents.
