OREANDA-NEWS. Ottawa police reported that at least one person died and three were taken to hospital with serious injuries as a result of shooting in the capital of Canada.

An unknown criminal opened fire in the morning of January 8. Police arrived on a scene after reports of many victims.

“At this time, there is no suspect in custody; however investigators believe that the shooting was targeted,” Ottawa police wrote on its Twitter page. The scene is secure and “this is not considered an active shooter situation,” officials said.

Law enforcement officers continue to search for the shooter.
