OREANDA-NEWS. The coronavirus has set a new spooky record: over 32 million people in the world have been already infected with COVID-19 for the moment, according to the data of Hopkins University. One of the worst situations is observed in Brazil, where for the third day in a row, more than 32 thousand newly infected are registered. The similar unfavorable trend concerning an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases is also noted in Europe.

The same tendency is recorded in the UK. In this country the highest increase in new cases of coronavirus infection is observed since the start of the pandemic. Over the past 24 hours, more than 6,600 people have been recorded as coronavirus infected, and 40 deaths were also recorded among the infected patients.

Earlier, in the United Kingdom new restrictive measures were taken due to the worsening of the situation. In particular, the authorities increased the fines for their violations. Also in the UK a new "rule of six" has been applied, when citizens are prohibited to gather in groups of more than six people. The only exception from the rule is business meetings.

A new anti-record has been set in France: over the past 24 hours, more than 16 thousand new cases of COVID-19 were revealed. Earlier, some cities with especially unfavorable coronavirus background, the authorities ordered to close bars and restaurants. In the others, including Paris, Bordeaux, Nice and Rene, opening hours of catering establishments to ten in the evening were limited. The innovations have displeased restaurant owners, who are protesting in Paris, demanding the lifting of restrictions.

In Israel, a second lockdown was announced on September, 18. Most of the country's residents are sent to remote work, shops and restaurants are closed so far.

The famous carnival in Rio de Janeiro is canceled, due to a large increase in the number of infected residents. Brazil is now in the third place in the world in terms of the number of people infected with coronavirus, after the United States and India.
