OREANDA-NEWS If Sweden and Finland join NATO, the deployment of armed forces, namely nuclear weapons, can happen immediately. This was announced by Kamiy Gran, who is the assistant Secretary General of the North Atlantic bloc for defense investments. He stressed that to accept or not to accept, to deploy or not to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory is the right of choice of every State that is free and cannot be under any pressure. This issue became more acute when Sweden and Finland applied to join the NATO block.

It is worth noting that the Scandinavian countries take a peaceful position towards Russia and do not want to unleash any conflict with it. It is also expected that the Moscow government will not use force in response to the expansion of the bloc after Finland and Sweden join the North Atlantic Alliance. On May 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the expansion of the NATO bloc by joining these two countries is artificial and is not a threat to Russia.
