More than Half of Russian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Called Their Situation Catastrophic
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of a monitoring conducted by Russian Business Ombudsman Boris Titov, 53 % of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country described their situation as a catastrophe or crisis.
62.2 % of respondents rated the chances of business survival at 50 % or lower. Just 13.4 % of entrepreneurs are confident in the continuation of their activities.
Partial resumption of work was reported by 32 % of respondents, 35.7 % said that their work is still stopped. The inability to pay salaries and taxes (52.4 %), rent (42.8 %), systematic non-payments by contractors (39.1 %) are among the main problems that enterprises faced.
More than half of the companies (55.1 %) negatively evaluated the actions of the Russian government to support business. 6.6 % consider them positive, 21.2 % – rather positive.
