OREANDA-NEWS. The American leaders with assistance of allies wage full-scale information war against Russia. The main idea of Washington consists in confrontation of systems of values of the Russian Federation and the West, the Deputy Minister of Defence Andrey Kartapolov said.

According to him, the western countries by means of mass media and not only try "to reformat individual and mass consciousness of" Russians and citizens of member countries of the CSTO "in the key, necessary for themselves". For counteraction to similar influences to members of the organization it is necessary to pursue the coordinated information policy.

One of ways of rendering pressure upon Russia are sanctions. The Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Washington uses such restrictive measures to stop development of our country. And in the West call the main reasons for application of sanctions the Crimea and Donbass. The president considers such explanations untrue.
