The joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus "Allied Resolve - 2022" will not have a serious impact on the international situation, the "hysteria" of the West because of them has already begun to subside. On Thursday, February 10, military expert Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestia.

According to him, these joint exercises are a normal working event.

“They have already influenced the international situation - and they can no longer be stronger. Hysteria about them rang and buzzed in the West. Now it has begun to subside, because all the deadlines for the attack on Ukraine, which were “appointed” in the West, have passed. For this reason, the exercises will be held in working order. Of course, they will have their own demonstration part, but they will not seriously affect the international situation, ”the expert emphasized.

Military exercises to test the reaction forces of the Union State began on February 10. The maneuvers are taking place at combined-arms training grounds in Belarus.

The exercises are held with the aim of qualitatively working out the tasks "to suppress and repel external aggression in the course of a defensive operation, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State," the Russian Defense Ministry noted.

For the duration of the maneuvers, the protection of the state border will be strengthened in order to stop attempts to penetrate militant groups and block the delivery of weapons and ammunition. The Russian and Belarusian military will find and neutralize conditional illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

The exercises will be held at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichsky training grounds in Belarus. Airfields Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi will be used for aviation. As emphasized in the Russian department, the maneuvers involve government agencies, units and military units of the Eastern Military District and the armed forces of Belarus.
