OREANDA-NEWS Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the Russian Federation was declared not only an economic, but also a scientific blockade. It is reported by TASS.
According to the politician, the country was limited in access to technology and contacts with scientists.
“Our country is under the strongest sanctions pressure. We have been declared a blockade, both economic and, unfortunately, even scientific…,” Medvedev stressed during a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Presidential Council for Science and Education.
As the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted, such restrictions on the scientific industry may be less open, but they exist.
Earlier, Medvedev admitted that sanctions against Russia could last for decades. According to him, this has nothing to do with even a special military operation.
In addition, Medvedev predicted food and energy crises due to anti-Russian sanctions. According to him, because of the sanctions, a major logistical crisis may occur, problems with energy resources will also increase in those states that have imposed sanctions on Russian fuel that are “shooting in their own legs,” and the development of the digital economy in the world will slow down.
Medvedev also did not rule out the onset of a full-fledged international food crisis with "the prospect of famine in individual states."
