As press secretary of the Investigative Committee Rima Yeganyan told RIA Novosti on November 27, the department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the Shirak region is preparing materials on the fact of the sudden death of a Russian contract serviceman, that was registered a day before.

On November 26, the press service of the Southern Military District told RIA Novosti that the commission of the command of the Russian military base in Armenia, together with law enforcement agencies, is conducting an investigation into the death of a contract serviceman. It is noted that the body of a serviceman without signs of life was found by a colleague at the place of residence outside the territory of the military unit. No traces of violent death were found on the soldier's body.

It is reported that a Russian military base is deployed in Gyumri, Shirak region of Armenia, in accordance with an interstate agreement of 1995. In 2010, amendments were made to the document, according to which the period of her stay was extended from the initial 25 years to 49 years, until 2044.

In Armenia, after the death of a contract employee, an inspection began, within the framework of which materials are being prepared. The check was organized by the command commission of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District in the country, together with law enforcement agencies.
