OREANDA-NEWS French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived on an official visit to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, where he will hold talks with the leader of the republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.

The French leader was met at the airport by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov. "During a brief conversation, the head of government expressed confidence that this visit will give a new impetus to the further development of the strategic partnership between Astana and Paris," a statement on the government's website reads.

After Kazakhstan, the French president intends to visit Uzbekistan.
