Lithuania Was Pleased with Putin’s Reaction to Russophobic Provocations in Georgia
OREANDA-NEWS Russia has suspended the sale of tours and tickets to Georgia since July 8 due to Russophobic provocations in this country. Lithuanian tour operators and businessmen were delighted with the unrest in Georgia.
Lithuanian authorities refused to comment specifically on the events in Georgia. Only the on-duty Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkiavicius called for “abide by the rule of law, avoid violence and unrest”.
The reaction of Vilnius is predictable: on the one hand, the Lithuanian authorities want to support anti-Russian sentiments in Georgia, but on the other, Lithuania seeks to attract such a popular Russian tourist who is looking for a new place to rest
