OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba did not offer any new ideas at a recent meeting in Antalya, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with RBC TV. He said that Russia is ready to continue negotiations, but it is also necessary to understand the prospects for such dialogues. According to him, the meeting at the ministerial level in Turkey does not replace the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine.
Kuleba did not put forward any new ideas at the meeting in Turkey. Russia is ready for contacts with Ukraine in the future, but you need to understand what the added value will be from such a dialogue,” Lavrov said.
On March 10, at a meeting in Antalya, Lavrov discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. He noted that the Russian side is ready for such contact, but it must have a concrete result.
The head of the Russian delegation at the talks with Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky, said that Ukraine offers an Austrian and Swedish version of a neutral, demilitarized state. Under these options, Ukraine would have to refuse to enter into military alliances, but retain the army and navy. He added that the negotiation process is "hard and slow."
On March 15, the representative of Ukraine in the negotiating group, David Arakhamia, announced the resumption of negotiations with the Russian side. Later, adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that negotiations would continue on March 16.
