OREANDA-NEWS. The intervention of third countries in the situation in Libya will not help resolve the conflict, mercenaries from different countries act on its territory, these are consequences of the destructive actions of several states. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, reports the Russian media.

According to a Kremlin spokesman, Libya has become "a haven for mercenaries from a number of countries from a huge number of countries." On its territory there are "mercenaries and terrorist elements". This was the result of “well-known actions by well-known countries to destroy Libyan statehood,” Peskov said, answering the question whether the Kremlin has information that there are mercenaries from Russia in Libya.

The spokesman added that the situation in Libya “is a cause of general concern”, including the Russian one. According to him, Russia is interested in an early peaceful settlement and "ending the bloodshed".
