OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian businessman-billionaire Igor Kolomoisky spoke in favor of ending the armed conflict in the east of the country and restoring relations between Ukraine and Russia. In an interview with an American newspaper published on Wednesday, he expressed confidence that the United States was only using Ukraine for its geopolitical goals, and the injuries caused to Ukrainians by the conflict in Donbass would quickly become a thing of the past.

“They are in any case stronger”, Kolomoisky said, referring to the conflict with Russia. “We must improve our relations”. “People want peace, a good life, they don’t want to fight”, he continued. “And the United States makes us fight and don’t even give us money for it”. According to Kolomoisky, the United States is simply using Ukraine to try to weaken its geopolitical rival - Russia. The US just wants Ukraine to wage a “war against Russia until the last Ukrainian”, he added.

At the same time, Kolomoisky expressed the view that over time, the trauma inflicted on the consciousness of Ukrainians by the conflict in the Donbass will be overcome. “Five to ten years will pass, and the blood will be forgotten”, the businessman said. “I describe objectively what I see and where things are going”.
