Kiev Says no Clear Agenda on Normandy Format

OREANDA-NEWS. There is no specific agenda for the summit in the Normandy format yet, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, has said.
According to him, the Ukrainian delegation plans to discuss the resumption of a full cease-fire.
"We will talk about humanitarian issues, the opening of checkpoints and the future work of the Normandy format,"- Yermak added.
The head of Zelenskyy's office denied that the Normandy format meeting will determine the date for talks with representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics. This was reported by the German news agency DPA on 25 January, citing a source in the Elysee Palace.
Ukraine has not changed its position and does not agree "to direct negotiations with the separatists", Yermak said. He called the reports on possible negotiations with the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics a fake and their dissemination a manipulation by those who want to derail the talks.
Advisors of the Normandy quartet leaders will meet in Paris on 26 January. The sides will discuss the situation in the east of Ukraine. Russia will be represented by the deputy head of the presidential administration, Dmitriy Kozak.
Yermak called the meeting of the Normandy quartet advisors "a powerful signal". He noted that the Ukrainian delegation planned to "go over the Minsk agreements". Kiev is ready to implement them "exclusively in Ukrainian interests and exclusively in accordance with the norms of international law," Yermak said.
