OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, sees himself neither as president of Russia, nor as a minister, nor in any other position at the federal level. He wrote this on his Telegram.
"I have always said and I repeat that I do not see myself in any federal position - neither as president, nor as a minister, etc. My place is here, in the Chechen Republic, and I'm not going anywhere from here!"- the Chechen leader wrote.
Kadyrov also added that he was speculating on how Russia should act towards Ukraine, not as the head of the Chechen Republic, but as a "blogger" and "ordinary person". "If there is something I need to say as the head of a region, I will say so: 'This is me, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov',"- he said.
The Chechen leader also added that he still believes that Russia should protect its interests "before it has to defend them on its own territory.
Kadyrov spoke about relations between Russia and Ukraine during a live broadcast with the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov. In his opinion, Russia should have "long ago taken" Ukraine and put things in order there, and the tension in relations between the two countries as a whole was caused by the US desire to deploy a new base on Ukrainian territory. If the citizens of Ukraine do not oppose this idea, then Russia should do it, he believes.
"If I were president instead, I would have taken Ukraine long ago, sent troops there, put things in order. If crazy, corrupt people are at the head of the state and threaten the security of our state through this state - should we keep quiet?"- said Kadyrov.
Kadyrov had previously said that Russia should annex Ukraine, but later clarified that he was expressing his opinion as a private person and not as the head of the Chechen Republic.
