On the occasion of the anniversary, the monarch went to a part of the imperial palace inaccessible to the public, where he will take part in a religious ceremony. It's noted that due to the spread of the new coronavirus in Japan, no social events are planned in connection with the anniversary.

Emperor Naruhito ascended the throne on May 1 last year after his father voluntarily retired due to his advanced age. On October 22, in Tokyo, the ceremony of introducing the new emperor to the country and the world took place, numerous foreign guests were invited to it.
