The situation in the Middle East was seriously aggravated after the Pentagon announced on January 3 an operation in which Kassem Suleimani, the commander of the special forces of Al-Quds of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite units of the Armed Forces), was killed in the Baghdad airport area. A missile strike on a motorcade, in which the commander followed, was inflicted by order of US President Donald Trump.
