OREANDA-NEWS  Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a 10-year bilateral agreement under which Tokyo will provide assistance to Kiev in the field of security, defense and other areas, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.

The agency notes that, according to the Ukrainian side, under this agreement, Japan will provide $4.5 billion in support to Ukraine this year. In turn, the Japanese embassy in Italy said that since 2022 Tokyo has already provided Kiev with support worth more than $ 12 billion.

Japan will provide Ukraine with non-lethal equipment and goods, and cooperate with the country in the field of intelligence.
