OREANDA-NEWS. Israeli forces attacked Palestinian radical Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip in response to a missile launch towards the Jewish state. This was announced on Monday on its Twitter page by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

"In response to a rocket launched from Gaza towards Israel earlier in the evening, we attacked a number of Hamas military posts in Gaza. We blame Hamas for all terrorist attacks carried out from Gaza", the statement said.

On Sunday, the army press service informed that the air-raid sirens were triggered in the city of Sderot and the areas adjacent to the Gaza Strip. Subsequently, the military reported that a missile launch on Israeli territory was recorded.
