OREANDA-NEWS. The draft law on the rights of indigenous peoples is an internal affair of Ukraine, Kiev itself will determine who will receive this status. This was stated by the chairman of the pro-presidential faction "Servant of the People" in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine David Arakhamia.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law "On the indigenous peoples of Ukraine", which defines the rights of indigenous peoples in the state and the specifics of their implementation, it is marked as urgent. Russians are not included in this list in the draft law. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the idea of dividing peoples into indigenous and not is reminiscent of the theory and practice of Nazi Germany.

The head of the pro-presidential faction "Servant of the People" in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said at a briefing on June 10: "This is an internal question, how we will define indigenous peoples and how we will regulate and give rights to national minorities.
