The report says that on the night of November 29-30, 75 nautical miles from the port of Lome, located in the Togolese Republic, a pirate attack was made on the tanker AGISILAOS. The attackers kidnapped four crew members, including a Russian citizen. At the moment, the embassy is monitoring the development of the situation.

On November 30, the portal of the company Dryad Global, which specializes in maritime security, reported that unidentified persons attacked the MV AGISILAOS oil and chemical transport vessel in the Gulf of Guinea. According to this information, the ship, sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands, tried to make maneuvers to prevent the landing of unknown persons.

According to the Equasis database, the hijacked vessel's management company is Capital Ship Management Corp (Greece, Piraeus), the registered owner is Polarwind Maritime SA. The vessel has been built and has been in operation since 2006. According to the data from the Marine Traffic real-time vessel tracking portal, the vessel departed from Pointe Noire (Republic of the Congo) to the seaport of Lome (Togo, West Africa), where it is now anchored.
