OREANDA-NEWS. In the village of Castañaro near Verona, the Italian artist Dario Gambarin painted with a tractor a portrait of the baptist of Russia, Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir.  The portrait turned out about 200 meters in length and occupies 24 thousand square meters.

 According to the artist, both the Russian prince and the Russian president have the same name - Vladimir.  Therefore, it seemed to the artist a good idea to paint a portrait of the prince in honor of the visit of the Russian president to Italy.

  “First of all, the name unites them both.  At the first meeting with Pope Francis in 2013, Putin presented him with an icon of Our Lady of Vladimir.  And I wanted to make a reciprocal courtesy, and as a return gift I dedicated to him the image of Vladimir, one of the most revered saints in Russia, ”explained Gambarin.

 The artist’s portrait of the prince was painted from a monument to Vladimir, located on Borovitsky Hill in Moscow.  Its length is 200 meters, and the area works of 24 thousand square meters.
