So the situation was commented on by the head of Bavaria and associate in the party of Chancellor Angela Merkel Markus Zeder. RIA Novosti reported.

“As for Nord Stream 2, this is not a government decision, but a private commercial project. One is not related to the other, from our point of view. Although, it must be admitted, this project in this case cannot be presented in a positive light, ”says Zeder.

In the same speech, the head of Bavaria, following Merkel, called on the Russian state to openly investigate what happened to Navalny.

Earlier, the German opposition spoke about the prospect of joint construction. The head of the "Green" faction in the German parliament (Bundestag) Katrin Goering-Eckardt said that information about the poisoning of Navalny with the substance of the "Newbie" group "must have consequences." According to her, Nord Stream 2 is no longer a project that Germany can "implement together with Russia."
