OREANDA-NEWS. A Russian citizen died in Finland at the Nokian Tires IRONMAN Finland triathlon competition.
43-year-old Vitaly Deryagin, deputy of the Elabuga City Council of the third convocation, felt ill at one of the stages of the competition. He was taken to hospital where he died.
At the moment, it is known that he drowned during the swimming phase in the lake Vesijärvi. The police are considering a version of the violation in the organization of the competition, which was attended by 1.8 thousand people.
Deryagin - a professional athlete, master of sports in skiing, graduated from the Kama State Institute of Physical Culture. Annually took part in ski races, sports cycling, repeatedly conquered Elbrus.
Being a deputy of the Elabuga City Council of the third convocation, he actively participated in charity events of the Makheev Foundation, was the curator of the Elabugi Initiative project.
