OREANDA-NEWS More than 700 former and current McDonald's employees in the UK have joined a lawsuit against the fast food restaurant chain and claimed harassment in the workplace. This was announced by the law firm Leigh Day.
According to the company, hundreds of clients aged 19 and younger who worked at McDonald's contacted the law firm. They asked to file a lawsuit on their behalf. Employees said they had been discriminated against and harassed during their work. In addition, they stated that they had allegedly "become victims of homophobia and racism."
"At the moment, more than 450 McDonald's restaurants are involved in the lawsuits," the report says. The law firm will seek compensation for clients.
Earlier it was reported that McDonald's rejected equality and inclusivity of employees. McDonald's representatives also stressed that they have made progress since they decided to link executive salaries to an increase in the proportion of women and racial minorities in leadership positions by 2025.
