Hong Kong Authorities Impose a Two-Week Ban on Foreigners
This measure will take effect on Wednesday and will be valid for two weeks. It's motivated by a sharp increase in the number of imported cases of coronavirus infection in the city over the past few days. According to data on Sunday, the number of cases of infection in Hong Kong reached 317. To prevent the spread of the virus, the Hong Kong authorities on March 19 introduced a mandatory two-week quarantine regime for all persons arriving from abroad.
The first coronavirus infection in Hong Kong was detected on January 22. Since then, four sick people have died. Due to the epidemiological threat, tourist, cultural and sports facilities were closed in the city, mass events and classes in schools were canceled.
